The Thermaltake Argent E700 is visually appealing, both in terms of style and pricing. This curving, glossy chair is a refreshing take on racing-inspired gaming chairs, and it appears more like what a car-inspired chair should look like, in my opinion, than like it was pulled from the local racetrack.
The Argent E700 is a partnership between Thermaltake and Studio F.A. Porsche that comes in nine various colors with the same black leather cushioning and chrome base. All are distinctive; while we love our yellow review model, we also like the 'Flaming Orange' and 'Ocean Blue' variants. The color runs across the full back of the chair as well as the underside of the bucket-style seat, which is covered in a hard plastic coating. The only visible branding on the chair is a single metal cutout in the leather back, which displays a minimalist Thermaltake logo.

Assembling the Argent E700
The Argent E700 comes virtually completely constructed. It comes in four pieces, not including the caster wheels: seat base, seat back, gas lift piston, and five-star base. It includes three pre-mounted screws, a hex wrench, and illustrated, simple instructions.
It only takes five steps to assemble the chair. It's not impossible to put together on your own, but it's lot easier with a partner. Both the seat base and the seat back are huge, heavy, and awkward, and they must be kept in place while they are put together. Once the seat is completed, it must be raised onto the gas lift piston, which is difficult to align without an extra set of eyes.
Design of the Argent E700
The Argent E700 from Thermaltake was created by Studio F.A. Porsche, which is owned by (but otherwise independent of) luxury German automaker Porsche AG. I realize this is probably a little perplexing, but Studio F.A. Porsche does not design vehicles — despite the fact that the studio was founded by Porsche's grandson, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, who also designed the classic Porsche 911.
In any case, while Studio F.A. Porsche is distinct from its sibling company, the Argent E700 is not distinct from car-inspired design. Having said that, it's not just another clone of the many racing-inspired gaming chairs on the market.

The bucket-style seat on the Argent E700 is upholstered in black perforated leather with red contrast stitching. It has an aluminum and metal frame and a durable, shiny ABS shell in a variety of colors, including glacier white, space gray, storm black, ocean blue, racing green, saddle brown, sanga yellow, fiery orange, and turquoise. The chair is supported by a five-star aluminum alloy base with three-inch plastic caster wheels.

The Argent E700's seat has polished aluminum "race car side handles" on either side. The right handle adjusts the height, while the left handle adjusts the reclining. When you lift the right handle, the chair's gas-lift piston lifts and lowers the seat. The lifting mechanism isn't flawless, and I periodically had to "pull" the chair up to get it to start raising.
Comfort and Adjustments of the Argent E700
The Argent E700 lacks many of the features and adjustments found in many of its competitors,However, if you want a fully adjustable, ergonomic task chair, this is probably not the chair for you. The Argent E700 is notable for its absence of lumbar support and a tilt mechanism. It does include height adjustment (but what chair doesn't? ), 4D armrests, a height-adjustable headrest, and a limited ability to recline (in both range and number of positions).
The Argent E700 lacks built-in adjustable lumbar support. The lowest half of the chair has a tiny curvature, but it is slight – you'll definitely need to offer your own lumbar support, especially for lengthy periods. This chair also lacks a neck pillow, which is common on gaming seats. The Argent E700 doesn't recline all the way flat, so it's definitely not the best chair for napping. It does include a shoulder pass through that appears to be just cosmetic but could most likely be modified to accommodate a neck cushion. The Argent E700 can hold up to 331 pounds, however heavier users should double-check the seat width. The seat is 18 inches (46cm) wide, however the bucket seat has a modest curve about 14 inches (35.6cm) and a significant curve around 16 inches (40.6cm). Because of the chair's hard exterior shell, there isn't much shaky room when it comes to seat width.
Conclusion
Playing video games, working, or...Otherwise, sitting in front of a computer is the polar opposite of what bucket seats are intended for. In other words, racing-inspired gaming chairs are primarily designed for aesthetics rather than excellent ergonomics. The Thermaltake Argent E7OO is a fantastically attractive gaming chair that is made to a high quality. It's also mostly comfy, thanks to a nice headrest and solid but supportive padding. If you're looking for a chair to make a statement, this is it.
